A little “liquid sunshine” couldn't dampen the holiday spirit at the 48th Annual Cashiers Christmas Parade.

The Cashiers Area Chamber of Commerce welcomed an enthusiastic crowd to Cashiers, NC, for the 2023 parade, themed “Bright Lights, Big Christmas,” featuring Grand Marshal and New York Times bestselling author Mary Kay Andrews.

Despite the rain, spectators lined the parade route and gathered at parade-watching parties throughout Cashiers as local businesses, schools, nonprofits, community organizations — and more than a few four-legged participants — brought Christmas cheer to the crossroads.

The Chamber extends special thanks to celebrity judges Serenity Richards, Jill Katz and Sean Cronin; emcees Sarah Jennings and Drew English; parade volunteers Ashlie Mitchell, Melissa Hudson, Molly McKim, Maggie Carton and Danie Beck; Chamber staff; and the many others who helped make the annual Cashiers tradition possible.

Remembering Thomas Taulbee

The 2023 parade also carried special meaning for the Cashiers community following the loss of former Parade Director and Cashiers Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Thomas Taulbee the previous month.

Many participants used the occasion to celebrate Thomas and his years of service to the Chamber and community. His spirit was very much with us that day.
