About

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Western North Carolina is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating and supporting meaningful mentoring relationships that help young people reach their full potential. BBBSWNC proudly serves children and families in Cashiers and Highlands, as well as throughout Macon and Jackson Counties and the greater Western North Carolina region.

Through one-to-one mentoring, group mentoring, and school-based programs, BBBSWNC connects local youth with caring adult mentors who provide guidance, encouragement, and consistency during critical stages of development. Programs are designed to build confidence, improve academic outcomes, and strengthen social-emotional skills, with every match carefully made and professionally supported.

BBBSWNC works closely with families, schools, and community partners across Cashiers, Highlands, Macon County, and Jackson County to address local needs. Flexible volunteer opportunities make it easy for both full-time and part-time residents to get involved. Guided by the belief that mentorship changes lives, BBBSWNC is committed to strengthening the future of the communities it serves—one relationship at a time.

Big Brothers Big Sisters creates life-changing, one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.
