Holiday Market - Hot Chocolate Bar

Saturday, November 14, 2026 (10:00 AM - 5:00 PM) (EST)

Description

Warm up while you shop. For one Saturday in November, a hot chocolate bar sets up for the day at The Bascom’s Holiday Market, where the Shop and Greehey Atrium fill with handcrafted gifts by local and regional artists, including members of The Bascom Clay Studio. Pour a cup, take your time, and browse between refills.

Now in its third year, the Holiday Market began as a one-day maker event on the Terrace and grew into a season-long market, open through December 26, so you can come and go at your own pace. Every piece is made by an artist from the Highlands-Cashiers Plateau or the surrounding region, the kind of gift you won’t find on a big-box shelf.

Make a day of it. In the Hughes Children’s Studio on the Trail Level, young artists can print their own wrapping paper and gift tags at 10 a.m., and a 2 p.m. workshop invites you to make your own holiday cards (registration required for both). Upstairs, the galleries are open too: Voices of Influence: Celebrating the Impact of Women in Art in Thompson Gallery, TRACES: Jo Sandman from the Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center in Bunzl Gallery, and Ceramic Artists of the Bascom Clay Symposium in Joel Gallery, in its final days.
