You’re Invited: July Business After Hours at our beloved Cashiers Historical Society and Intern Appreciation Month

The Cashiers Historical Society (CHS) is a cornerstone of cultural preservation in the Cashiers Valley, dedicated to honoring the region's rich heritage through education, stewardship, and advocacy. Established in 1996, CHS maintains several historic landmarks, including the Zachary-Tolbert House—a rare example of Greek Revival architecture—Colonel John’s Cabin, the Hampton Schoolhouse, and the Dependency. These sites offer visitors a tangible connection to the area's pioneer past. 

CHS hosts a variety of annual events that celebrate and educate about local history, such as the Jan Wyatt Symposium (June 19), Heritage Apple Day (Aprili 26), the Airing of the Quilts (June 6 - 7), and the Cashiers Designer Showhouse (Aug 22 - 30). These programs engage the community and visitors alike, fostering a deeper appreciation for the unique stories and traditions of the Cashiers Valley.
