2025 Joy Garden Tour – Media Marketing and Donor Communications

Job Description 

Overview 

The Village Green is a 13.2-acre nonprofit park system that is “The Heart of Cashiers”. We host over 25 events annually and have been serving our community for over 30 years.

Our highlight event this year is The Joy Garden Tour (JGT) – a two-day event touring homes with unique and exceptional gardens within the community.

The Village Green is searching for an expert in social media marketing and donor communications who will be responsible for updating our Village Green website for The Joy Garden Tour, management of our Joy Garden Tour social media presence, and coordinating Benefactor Communication. This is a virtual/remote position.

Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Executive Director with various projects assigned. General responsibilities include

-Management, with guidance from the Executive Director, of The Joy Garden Tour page on The Village Green website leading up to the event in July 2025.

-Create visual content in Canva, schedule posts, & manage Joy Garden Tour content on TVG’s social media accounts through Meta-Business.

-Meet bi-weekly with The Village Green staff to discuss the completion of tasks within pre-determined timeframes.

-Work alongside The Village Green staff to meet predetermined goals regarding the website, social media marketing, and donor/benefactor communication.


Qualifications: 

Required Skills

-Previous experience in writing content for websites and social media posts.

-Previous experience working in WordPress.

-Previous experience building campaigns in within Meta Business.

-Experience with SEO/SEM, and analytics tracking.

-Self-motivated, good organizational and interpersonal skills, detail-oriented, ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.

-Enthusiasm for the mission of The Village Green and the community we serve.

Preferred Skills

-Previous related experience in fundraising or event planning is a plus.

-Must be computer literate (working knowledge of word processing, PowerPoint, Excel), including Internet research experience

-Professional demeanor and outstanding communication etiquette.

-Ability to communicate in a professional manner with press and community contacts.

-Completed or working toward a college degree, preferably with an interest in non-profit development and hospitality/tourism/event planning.

Remote Employment
  

Time Commitment:

-Completed work on a weekly basis (Determined during March/April Conference Call) from April 1st through August 1st, 2025.
